Underberg divested one of its many labels, Leibwächter (bodyguard).

Prior, Underberg successfully expanded ist ownership and business under Leibwächter.

The new trademark owner is a growing, international spirits house.

The purchase price is in the single digit millions.

Harley-Davidson strengthens licensing

One of the true iconic American brands is Harley-Davidson.

Struggling with various challenges, board member Jochen Zeitz took over as CEO, and started the reorganization. Already in the 90s Jochen Zeitz reorganized Puma. And he lead the brand to decades of success, continuing today.

Now Harley-Davidson is strengthening its licensing operations.

Harley-Davidson has an enormously loyal customer basis, partially organized as ‘HOG’, Harley Owners Group.

Eine der Amerikanischen Marken Ikonen ist Harley-Davidson.

Nach diversen Problemen übernahm Beiratsmitglied Jochen Zeitz als CEO die Reorganisation. Jochen Zeitz hatte zuvor die in den frühen 90ern strauchelnde Marke Puma reorganisiert und zu steten Erfolgen geführt.

Nun verstärkt Harley-Davidson seine Lizenzaktivitäten.

Perfume licenses moving

Dolce & Gabbana announced to take its fragrance and cosmetics licenses in-house. Since 2016 the licensee has been Shiseido. Prior licensees were Coty, Inc. and P+G from 2006.

Notoriously, P+G acquired the license through an auction.

Already in 2021 Estee Lauder and four of its licensors split amicably: Zegna, Michael Kors, Donna Karan / DKNY, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Some found new licensees in the meantime.

Many attempts by fashion houses to manage fragrances in-house were less than successful. Examples were Donna Karan, and Escada.
