The NY Times recently had an article about China investing in solar and technology companies.
But China also continues its buying spree in Europe. One of the recent acquisitions was the Swiss watchmaker Eterna.
The buyer was International Volant Limited, a subsidiary of Haidian-Group. The seller was F. A. Porsche GmbH.
Eterna is one of the very few companies, that still makes watch movements with about 70 employees and an annual turnover of 12 Mill. Swiss Franks.
Among others, Eterna also manufactures the watches under the brand Porsche Design. According to newspapers it will continue the license under new ownership.
The Haidian-Group markets watches in China under the two brands Ebhor and Rossini and has a market share of roughly 43 percent.
