Today, ICANN will launch its trademark clearing house for new gTLDs (generic top-level domains).
At the clearinghouse trademark owners can register their marks for an annual fee.
All of the new TLD registrars will be required to check the trademark clearinghouse before issuing domains, preemptively squashing trademark disputes.
